Dear applicants and parents!
AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" announces the acceptance of documents for participation in the competitive selection of applicants for the award of the educational grant "Orken" for education in the 7th grade of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools from the 2023-2024 academic year.
Documents are accepted from December 1, 2022 to January 10, 2023. Comprehensive testing is carried out on March 2–3, 2023.
For admission to study at the Intellectual Schools, a system of competitive selection of students is used that meets international standards and ensures objectivity, fairness and the principle of equality for all applicants.
The effectiveness of the competitive selection system was confirmed by validation studies (2016, 2020) and the successful completion of international accreditation conducted in 2022 by the Research Center for Expertise and Certification (RCEC, the Netherlands).
Based on the results of the competition, the Republican Commission for the award of the educational grant "Orken" awards a grant to applicants for studying in grade 7 with a higher overall test score for assessing the ability to study subjects of the natural and mathematical direction and the language test within the allocated grants for specific schools.
When awarding grants, the Commission is guided by the following criteria:
- the number of children who scored high on the results of comprehensive testing in the context of the languages of instruction;
- design capacity of the school.
In order to prepare applicants for admission to Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, the following AEO projects are being implemented:
- Virtual school for students in grades 5, 6 (online, free of charge);
- Vacation school on the basis of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools for students who have passed the final test of the Virtual School (free of charge);
- online training course "How to prepare for admission to the Nazarbayev Intellectual School and assess your capabilities" on the website www.academia.kz (for a fee);
- trial testing of competitive selection of students on the basis of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (for a fee)
Detailed information on projects can be obtained on the website www.nis.edu.kz in the section "Applicants". Passing these courses does not guarantee admission to the Intellectual Schools.

Today, there are more than 1,900 preparatory centers in the country. Recently, cases of illegal use of the official logo and name of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO on their websites and in advertising materials by some organizations and individuals providing educational services have become more frequent, in particular, in preparing students for entrance exams to Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, as well as graduation collections of test tasks, dissemination of unreliable information about the conditions of competitive selection and the number of grants allocated for education in the Intellectual Schools.
In this regard, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO officially announces that it does not cooperate with any organizations and individuals that provide educational services to prepare students for admission to Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.

The Autonomous Organization of Education "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" in order to form a student body for the 2023-2024 academic year announces the deadlines for the competitive selection of applicants for the award of the educational grant of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy "Orken" for education in the 7th grade of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
Acceptance of documents from December 1, 2022 to January 10, 2023

Lunch break from 12.00-13.00 hours
Holidays: December 16, 31, 2022. January 1, 2, 7, 2023.

Booking the date and time of visiting the Intellectual School
To ensure safety and sanitary and anti-epidemic measures during the acceptance of documents, the flow of visitors to admissions offices in each Intellectual School will be regulated through the online booking service, which will allow you to pre-book the date and time of visiting the school to submit documents for the competitive selection of applicants.
The legal representative (1 person) and the applicant are admitted to the building of the Intellectual School strictly at the time specified during registration. Other persons accompanying the applicant and the legal representative are not allowed on the school grounds.
For online booking you need:
- Open the website of the Intellectual School pvl.nis.edu.kz;
- Enter the section "Applicants" / "Competitive selection";
- Select "Book a queue to visit the admissions office";
- In the window that opens, select the date and time of visiting the school for submitting documents in the calendar.
- Provide your contact information;
- Confirm booking;
- After filling in all the fields and confirming the booking, a booking confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided.
To participate in the competitive selection for admission to the Intellectual School, the applicant must submit the following documents to the selection committee:
1) application (download) for participation in the competition;
2) a completed application form (download) (the application form is downloaded when booking a place and time, filled in in advance and provided along with other documents);
3) copies of the applicant's birth certificate, the applicant's IIN, the applicant's identity card (if any), a copy of the legal representative's identity card indicating the IIN;
4) a copy of the report card and behavior of the applicant for the previous year of study, preceding the class of study at the Intellectual School, for the first half of the year, if the applicant has not completed the current academic year and continues to study. The required documents must be certified by the signature of the head and sealed by the relevant educational organization (note: if the documents are submitted before the end of the first half of the 6th grade, the report card for the 5th grade is handed in, after the end of the first half of the 6th grade the report card is handed over for the first half of the 6th grade).
Applicants studying in the 7th grade of secondary education organizations are not entitled to re-study in a similar class of the Intellectual School in the next academic year, with the exception of students of foreign educational organizations and international schools, whose classes may differ from the classes of educational organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan due to the difference in the program training and level of education.
Applicants studying in foreign educational organizations or international schools, the educational program and grading scale, in which it differs from the program and grading scale of educational organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attach official letters from the school of study explaining the content of the program and scale to the report card (grade transcript) ratings.
5) a digital photograph of the applicant 3x4 cm in size in the form of a graphic file no more than 1 MB (megabyte) or take a photograph of the applicant at the selection committee when submitting documents.
The photograph is taken strictly from the front on a light background, with a neutral facial expression and a closed mouth, in which the face occupies about 75% of the total area of the photograph. It is not allowed to use images made by computer scanning, modeling or photocopying. When photographing, hats and glasses are not allowed. The eyes are open, clearly visible and not covered by hair. The size of the photo must be at least 450x600 pixels with a resolution of at least 600 pixels per inch (dpi).
All these documents are filed in a plastic folder with a transparent front side for 10 files.
The grounds for refusal to accept documents may be:
1) filing an application for participation in the competitive selection later than the established deadlines;
2) providing an incomplete list of documents.
Documents submitted to the selection committee by a third party without a power of attorney are not accepted.
